Originally from England, Paul holds a postgraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors. Now retired, his career spans both military service and entrepreneurship.

Paul began his professional journey as a firearms specialist with Her Majesty’s Armed Forces during several pivotal global events. After leaving the military, he founded and successfully grew a specialist software development and support company serving medical professionals in the UK.

In 2010, Paul relocated to Cape Town with his South African wife, where he immersed himself in the local sport shooting community. A passionate pistol competitor, he participated in IPSC competitions across Southern Africa and qualified as a SAIRO&I Range Officer, covering all sport shooting disciplines. He also obtained his SASSETA Range Officer and Supervision competency.

Paul’s vision for KAAPJAG Sentraal Branch

  • Establishing financial stability to support long-term growth
  • Using sport shooting as a platform to develop hunters' skills for ethical hunting and conservation
  • Expanding youth training initiatives
  • Promoting conservation and ethical hunting practices

With a blend of leadership, practical experience, and deep commitment to KAAPJAG’s values, Paul is set to build a strong and forward-thinking branch.

Paul has worked closely with the KAAPJAG Executive Committee in recent years, playing a key role in developing and implementing the PractiScore scoring system. Stepping into the role of Chairman of the Central Branch was a natural progression.

What members can look forward to 

Central Branch has won Branch of the Year twice, and is also the largest of Kaapjag’s nine branches (with 1,570 members) and offers: 

  • Various shooting events
  • Regular members’ evenings 
  • Workshops
  • Regular training opportunities for adults and juniors
