MOU BETWEEN KAAPJAG AND THE DFFE

One of Kaapjag’s prime objectives remains the conservation of our natural heritage

In doing so, we work with our partners in conservation, which led to a new draft Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between ourselves and the national governmental conservation authority, the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment (DFFE).

The MOU will focus on the control of alien and invasive species that pose a threat to our biodiversity. This will create direct opportunities for our members to become involved in this very important conservation effort.

We met at the Kaapjag offices on Friday, 25 March 2022 to finalise the draft. It will now be submitted to the Department for signing.

Present at the discussion

Debbie Muir (Specialist Programme Manager: Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment), Hannes van Schalkwyk (Problem Animals and Conservation: Kaapjag), and Matt Relihan (Executive Officer: Kaapjag)
